Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the QC team:

    Provide guidance, assign tasks, and supervise the work of QC technicians and chemists.
  • Oversee testing and analysis:

    Ensure routine and complex tests are performed correctly on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Maintain quality standards:

    Ensure all products and processes comply with established internal, industry, and governmental standards, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Manage documentation and reporting:

    Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests and analysis, generate reports, and review batch records.
  • Handle equipment:

    Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and proper functioning of laboratory instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues:

    Investigate deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and other quality-related problems, implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure safety and compliance:

    Uphold safety protocols in the lab and ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Make final decisions:

    Exercise judgment to make final pass/reject decisions on ingredient and product batches based on test results and sensory evaluation.
