Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Test Engineer at Vish Gyana Technology Solutions in Chennai. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for test execution, software testing, creating test cases, and collaborating with the software development team on testing activities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

A) Client Handling

Communicate with Clients, Project Manager to get requirement and project flow.

Walk through the documentation, raise a meeting with client and PM to get clarification if required

Should be a part of every client meeting to get all Updates of the project

Communicate regularly with developers via mail or chat regarding progress

Tester should give suggestion or idea to client if it required to the project.

B) Team Handling

After getting proper clarification and requirement, discuss with testing team

Verify the test scenario and test cases

Setup a test environment to team

Clarify team doubts and provide KT

Allocate task to team members

Monitor team members in regular base

C) Testing

Execute test cases.

Execute test scenario

Do API testing, security testing, automation, acceptance, Alpha, beta and regression testing

Run automation script

After launch, if any issues occur, tester should have the capacity to identify the root cause

D) Reporting

Track the bug status until it closed.

Before launch, generate an automation report sent it project manager.

Make a report of non-closed bug and status, sent it project manager

Test closure report.

Make a note of client raised bugs, and report to development team

Requirement/Knowledge

Strong in both manual and automation testing and concept

Agile methodology

Good knowledge in database

Good knowledge in automation tools and framework

Knowledge in types of software application ( web, app, window based application, etc..)

Ability to work with testing tools

Qualifications

Bachelors in Computer Science or related field, Masters Degree preferable

Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude

Ability to work independently & self-driven to learn
