Job Description

Role & responsibilities

KRA- JOB PROFILE -QC IN-CHARGE

1.Quality Strategy & Planning

Develop and implement quality control strategies aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

Standardize quality practices across manufacturing units and trading operations.

Ensure alignment with ISO-9001 and other applicable quality standards.

2. Quality Management for Manufacturing Plants

Supervise and monitor all quality control activities at plant level, including:

Incoming raw material inspection and approval

In-process quality checks and approval.

Finished goods testing and approval.

Ensure adherence to quality specifications, tolerances, and sampling methods.

Drive process improvements and product consistency across all batches.

Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for non-conforming products in CRM.

3. Quality Control for Trading Materials

Establish and monitor quality parameters for traded materials sourced from third-party vendors.

Coordinate with vendors for pre-dispatch inspection and sample approvals.

Conduct random and scheduled audits/visits at vendor sites to resolve the issues.

Manage quality disputes, rejections, and replacements with vendors.

Maintain retain samples and documentation for traceability.

Train the field chemist to ensure quality products at supplier end.

Visits at supplier end regarding customer complaints/rejections and based on findings prepare MoM.

4. Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor QC team across locations (Chemists, Executives, etc).

Conduct periodic training on testing procedures, instrument handling, quality SOPs.

Set KRAs, monitor performance, and ensure accountability at all levels.

Foster cross-functional coordination with Production, R&D, Purchase & Sales.

5. Quality Systems & Documentation

Ensure proper documentation of QC test reports, COAs, retain samples, and deviations.

Implement and maintain SAP or manual systems for data integrity and traceability.

Conduct regular internal audits and prepare for external/customer audits.

Review and approve technical documents specifications, SOPs, COAs, MSDS, etc.

6. Customer Complaint Handling

Act as the key contact for investigating and resolving customer complaints.

Coordinate joint testing, visit customer’s location if required, and share investigation reports.

Implement CAPA and prevent recurrence of customer issues.

7. Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable national and international standards.

Maintain readiness for third-party inspections and certifications.

8. Instrumentation & Calibration

Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of all laboratory instruments.

Introduce new technologies, upgrade lab infrastructure where needed.

Validate testing methods for accuracy and reproducibility.

9. Vendor & Supplier Quality

Develop vendor evaluation and approval systems based on quality parameters.

Conduct regular assessments and audits of supplier labs or quality systems.

Maintain quality-based grading for suppliers and provide feedback.

10. Maintain daily communication, behaviour and discipline

1. To maintain good behaviour and discipline.

2. Timely communication and proper reply of all emails communication within 24 hours.

3. Daily Reporting to seniors regarding the complete analysis data of final dispatches.

4. Follow the implemented SOPs and ensure the QC team follow the same SOPs for more improvement.

11. Internal & External Audits

1.Timely Prepare all documents and manage audits individually(ISO-9001, customer, regulatory, etc.).

2.Ensure timely closure of audit observations and NCs with proper implementation and evidences.
