Role Overview

QA Engineer

web applications, mobile apps, websites, and APIs

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, and execute

  test cases, test scenarios, and test plans

  for web, mobile, and API-based applications.
• Perform

  functional, regression, integration, usability, and compatibility testing

  .
• Conduct

  API testing

  using tools such as Postman or similar.
• Test across platforms:
• Web applications and admin dashboards
• Mobile applications (Android / iOS)
• Public and internal websites
• Think critically and test beyond the obvious, including:
• Basic security and access control issues
• Potential data exposure or data leakage scenarios
• Performance and responsiveness from a user perspective
• Log defects with

  clear, reproducible steps

  , proper categorisation, screenshots, and supporting evidence.
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and project managers to

  clarify requirements

  and ensure thorough test coverage.
• Participate in

  smoke testing, sanity testing, and release sign-off

  .
• Maintain and update

  test documentation

  (test cases, test summary reports, defect reports, etc.).
• Contribute to improving

  QA processes, checklists, and best practices

  as the team grows.
• (Nice to have) Assist in setting up or maintaining

  basic automation scripts

  for repetitive scenarios.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience

  in

  manual testing

  of web and/or mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of

  SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle

  .
• Experience in testing:
• Web applications, admin panels, or dashboards
• Mobile apps (Android and/or iOS)
• REST APIs
• Ability to derive

  test cases from user stories, requirement documents, and acceptance criteria

  .
• Good understanding of

  test design techniques

  such as:
• Boundary value analysis
• Equivalence partitioning
• Negative testing
• Exploratory testing
• Familiarity with tools such as:
• Postman (or similar API testing tools)
• Bug/issue trackers (Jira, ClickUp, Trello, or similar)
• Basic Git usage for reviewing changes when needed
• Strong

  analytical and critical thinking

  skills, with the ability to question assumptions and identify edge cases.
• Good

  verbal and written communication skills

  for clear coordination with developers and stakeholders.
• Self-driven, responsible, and comfortable working in a

  high-ownership startup environment

  .

Nice to Have

• Exposure to

  automation testing

  using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of

  performance testing

  (e.g., JMeter, k6).
• Awareness of

  basic security validation

  from a QA perspective (role-based access, input validations, etc.).
• Prior experience working with

  distributed or remote teams
