Job Description

Carelon Global Solutions India is looking for a Tech Lead-AI with deep expertise in Python, cloud-native architectures, and AI/ML technologies, Gen AI, particularly within the US Healthcare domain.
This role involves leading the design and development of scalable data and AI solutions, guiding engineering teams, and driving technical excellence across projects.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building distributed systems, data pipelines, and intelligent applications using Gen AI and LLMs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and delivery of cloud-native applications and data platforms using Python, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
AI/ML Strategy & Implementation: Architect and oversee the integration of Gen AI, LLMs, and ML models into healthcare workflows to enable intelligent automation and insights.
System Design & Scalability: Drive the design of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems and APIs for healthcare data processing and claims management.
Data Engineering Oversight: Guide the development of robust data pipelines and storage solutions using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and cloud-native tools (AWS/GCP).
Frontend Architecture: Provide technical direction for frontend development using Angular or React, ensuring seamless integration with backend services.
DevOps & CI/CD: Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring strategies to support rapid and reliable deployments.
Domain Expertise Application: Leverage deep understanding of US Healthcare systems, including claims and payer-provider interactions, to inform technical decisions and ensure compliance. Contribute to creating specialized AI solutions in healthcare, leveraging domain-specific knowledge for task adaptation and deployment.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop innovative and effective natural language processing solutions, specializing in text classification, sentiment analysis, and topic modeling.
Team Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and foster a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Cross-functional Engagement: Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
Preferred Tech Stack Leadership: Advocate and contribute to projects using Go, TypeScript, and AI engineering best practices where applicable.

QUALIFICATION

B.E/B.Tech in Computer Sciences, IT, Engineering.

EXPERIENCE

8+ years of Programming experience

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Advanced proficiency in Python, with deep expertise in building scalable, low-latency microservices using FastAPI and Snaic.
Strong architectural understanding of RESTful APIs, service decomposition, and inter-service communication.
Experience in designing fault-tolerant, high-availability systems with asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
Expert in Docker for containerizing applications and managing dependencies.
Proficient in Kubernetes for orchestrating microservices, with hands-on experience in Helm charts, Kustomize, and RBAC.
Skilled in managing multi-tenant clusters, auto-scaling, and resource optimization.
Strong coding standards and practices including test-driven development (TDD), code reviews, and design patterns.
Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and performance tuning in Python.
Monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Grafana and Cloud-native tools.
Proficient in deploying and optimizing workloads on GCP, with working knowledge of AWS.
Experience in cloud-native app design, serverless architectures, and cost optimization strategies.
Familiarity with deploying AI/ML models in production using MLflow, Kubeflow, and TorchServe.
Version control and reproducibility using Git, MLflow, and DVC.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and team velocity tracking.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams, mentoring developers, and driving technical excellence.
Healthcare AI Applications: Understanding of healthcare-specific data modalities, privacy constraints, and domain adaptation for clinical and operational use cases.
Evaluation Methodologies: Proficiency in designing benchmarks, conducting human evaluations, and applying automated metrics for model performance and safety.
Mathematical Foundations: Strong grasp of linear algebra, probability, optimization theory, and information theory relevant to deep learning and model design.
Research Methodology: Experience in experimental design, reproducibility, statistical analysis, and peer-reviewed publication processes.
Strong analytical thinking with ability to solve complex ML challenges
Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to diverse audiences
Experience translating business requirements into data science solutions
Project management skills for coordinating ML experiments and deployments
Strong collaboration abilities for working with cross-functional teams
Dedication to staying current with latest ML research and best practices
Ability to mentor and share knowledge with team members
