Job overview:

We are hiring a skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our client, a fully remote, globally distributed platform company. Founded in late 2024 and headquartered in Singapore, the company is preparing to bring its AI-enabled marketplace solution to market, initially targeting the financial services industry with plans to expand across other sectors. The team is composed largely of Gen Z professionals who value innovation, adaptability, and efficiency.

This is a part-time role ideal for backend developers with strong Python experience who are interested in working with emerging AI technologies. You will help build scalable systems, integrate APIs, and support the technical foundation of the product as it moves into its launch phase.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python
• Design and manage both NoSQL and relational database systems
• Build and integrate RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Collaborate with frontend and data science teams to implement new platform features
• Contribute to platform performance, scalability, and security improvements
• Support development and integration of machine learning or agentic AI features as needed

Must-haves:

• Proficiency in Python and backend development best practices
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Proven ability to integrate REST or GraphQL APIs
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a distributed setup
• Collaborative mindset and comfort working asynchronously across time zones

Great-to-have:

• Experience with Node.js or Java
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, serverless tools)
• Interest or experience in AI/ML technologies and agentic AI platforms
• Experience working on B2C platforms or marketplaces
