Python Backend Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are building a next-generation FinTech backend platform requiring high performance, strong reliability, and fast iteration. You will contribute to real-time microservices, configurable rule engines, secure APIs, and workflows supporting high-scale consumer experiences. This is a product-first role suited to engineers who have worked in product teams and enjoy startup-style execution.

Location: Kochi (Onsite/Hybrid)

Experience: 2–10 years (Multiple levels)

Team: Core Product Engineering (starting with 2+ strong product engineers)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build backend microservices using Python + FastAPI

• Design and optimise low-latency APIs

• Work with Redis + Postgres for caching and persistence

• Implement config-driven business logic (no hard-coded rules)

• Work with Orkes/Temporal workflow patterns (future ready)

• Deploy and operate services on AWS

• Apply Zero Trust principles across all services

• Write unit tests, integration tests, automated QA

• Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude)

• Collaborate with product/architecture to deliver modules end-to-end

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

• Strong Python proficiency

• FastAPI + asyncio experience

• REST API development

• Redis + Postgres expertise

• AWS experience (IAM, Lambda, ECS/EKS, SQS, VPC)

• Strong security mindset, Zero Trust fundamentals

• Clean, testable code discipline

• Product engineering background

GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Orkes/Temporal awareness

• Microservices design patterns

• Performance tuning and caching strategies

• Exposure to distributed tracing

• Interest in FinTech, UPI, payments, rewards, gamification
