Purchase Officer - Agro chemicals & Surfactant

About the Role

Agri Guard Manufacturing Pvt Ltd is looking for a dynamic and experienced Purchase professional to join our team at Baroda. The candidate will be responsible for handling procurement activities, vendor management, and cost optimization primarily for surfactants and other chemical raw materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for

  surfactants

  and other chemical raw materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chain operations.
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and competitor activities to make informed purchase decisions.
• Handle domestic as well as international sourcing to ensure competitive pricing and timely imports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and industry standards in procurement processes.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements.
• Work closely with production, R&D, quality, and finance teams to align procurement with business needs.
• Optimize inventory levels while ensuring uninterrupted supply.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and alternative sourcing strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Graduate / Post-Graduate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or MBA in Supply Chain/Materials Management.

• Experience: 4-8 years in procurement/purchase function within the Chemical, Agro Chemicals Industry (mandatory).

• Hands-on experience in sourcing surfactants is required.

• Experience in International Purchase would be an added advantage.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of import procedures, GST, and other statutory compliances will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with a results-oriented approach.
