As the Head of Procurement & Contracting at the company, your role is crucial in overseeing the overall sourcing strategy for the assigned unit/projects to ensure quality products and contribute to the growth and profitability targets of the O2C business. Your responsibilities include: - **Functional Planning & Strategy:** - Provide inputs for creating procurement strategy in line with internal guidelines - Collaborate with the leadership team to identify new initiatives and set operational plans - Participate in the budgeting cycle and provide inputs on budget allocation - Stay updated on industry developments and implement best practices - **Procurement Operations:** - Achieve product quality through cost-efficient procurement - Collaborate with stakeholders for cost optimization - Monitor inventory levels for timely replenishment - Oversee supplier-related issues and commercial settlements - **Supplier Management & Development:** - Identify potential suppliers and maintain strong relationships - Review supplier performance and communicate feedback - Ensure adherence to established procurement procedures - **Policies, Processes, and Procedures:** - Create and ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures - Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement - Stay updated on technology developments for digital adoption - **Risk Management:** - Identify and manage various risks that could impact procurement - Prepare for unforeseen emergencies to ensure continuity of operations - Oversee compliance with HSE and RIL guidelines - **People Management:** - Participate in recruitment and retention activities - Set performance objectives, evaluate team members, and provide feedback - Guide and develop the team for larger responsibilities In addition, success in this role will be measured by metrics such as timely placement of orders, compliance to processes, and training hours for the team. You will collaborate with internal teams like Manufacturing, Business, Technology, and external stakeholders such as Suppliers, Consultants, and Shipping Lines. **Qualifications required:** - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical/Mechanical/Instrumentation/Electrical - Master's degree in management is preferred - 25+ years of total experience with 5-7 years in a leadership position To excel in this role, you should possess knowledge of sourcing and procurement strategies, industry standards, contractual terms, and have a strong commercial acumen.
