The Project Manager, Civil & Mechanical will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of the Balance of Plant (BoP) civil works and Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) mechanical erection activities for utility-scale wind farm projects. This role requires deep technical knowledge in civil engineering (foundations, roads, site preparation) and mechanical management (heavy lift, assembly, commissioning coordination) to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

I. Civil & Site Management

  • Foundation & Design:

Oversee the review and validation of WTG foundation designs, geotechnical reports, and civil engineering specifications.
  • Infrastructure:

Manage all site civil works, including access roads, turbine hardstands, crane paths, and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and environmental permits.
  • Contractor Management:

Serve as the primary point of contact for civil contractors, conducting regular site inspections and managing quality assurance (QA/QC) for all concrete pours and earthworks.

II. Mechanical & Erection Management

  • WTG Erection:

Directly manage and supervise all mechanical erection activities, including component assembly, heavy lifting operations, and installation of turbine components (nacelle, hub, blades).
  • Logistics:

Develop, track, and forecast detailed civil and mechanical schedules and budgets, identifying and mitigating variances proactively.
  • Risk Management:

Identify potential project risks related to site conditions, weather delays, and component delivery, developing corresponding mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting:

Provide detailed progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and status updates to executive management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in project management within the renewable energy or heavy civil construction sector.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the installation of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) and associated civil foundations.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy lifting, rigging standards, and crane safety protocols.
  • Excellent proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
