Description
Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Leadership: o Lead and manage the engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of the fertilizer project. o Ensure the project is executed within scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality and safety standards. o Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants. o Facilitate the identification and mitigation of project risks and resolve technical and non-technical issues. 2. Engineering Design & Coordination: o Oversee the design and engineering activities for fertilizer production facilities, including equipment layout, utility systems, and infrastructure. o Coordinate with process engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated designs. o Review and approve engineering documentation, such as design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications. o Ensure the application of industry best practices, compliance with relevant standards (e.g., API, ANSI, ISO), and adherence to local regulations. 3. Project Planning & Scheduling: o Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and cost estimates. o Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-eective acquisition of materials and services. o Monitor project progress and adjust schedules or resources as needed to mitigate delays and cost overruns. o Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the project stays on track. 4. Cost & Budget Control: o Oversee the preparation of project budgets and ensure cost control measures are in place. o Monitor expenditures and ensure the project remains within financial constraints. o Approve vendor invoices, ensure compliance with contract terms, and negotiate any necessary changes. 5. Safety & Quality Assurance: o Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. o Implement and enforce a robust quality assurance program, ensuring all work meets required technical standards. o Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections throughout the project lifecycle. 6. Stakeholder Management & Reporting: o Maintain regular communication with senior management, project stakeholders, and clients to provide updates on project status, key challenges, and solutions. o Prepare and deliver detailed progress reports, cost reports, and presentations for executive teams. o Ensure alignment with stakeholders' expectations, including project goals and scope changes. 7. Team Development & Collaboration: o Foster a collaborative environment between all project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams. o Mentor and develop engineering talent within the project team. o Promote continuous improvement and innovation in project execution. • Strong knowledge of fertilizer production processes (e.g., ammonia, urea, NPK). • Expertise in project management tools, cost estimation, and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders. • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Desired Skills: • Deep knowledge of fertilizer plant operations, including process safety and environmental regulations. • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines. • Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities.
