Job Title: Project Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and review project plans, including timelines, resources, costs, and deliverables for ELV systems.
Coordinate and liaise with other engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project goals and specifications are met.
Oversee the planning and scheduling of tasks related to ELV system design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
Monitor progress to ensure timely completion of milestones, adhering to quality, safety, and budgetary requirements.
2. Technical Design Support:Review and validate design documents for ELV systems, including layout drawings, specifications, and integration with other building systems (HVAC, lighting, etc.).
Provide technical expertise for the installation and operation of ELV systems such as CCTV, fire alarm, access control, PA systems, structured cabling, and intercom systems.
Ensure that ELV system designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and local codes.
Work closely with design teams to modify and improve designs based on project needs and evolving technical requirements.
3. Vendor Procurement Management:Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment required for ELV systems, ensuring quality and cost-e ective sourcing.
Evaluate vendor quotations and select suppliers based on technical specifications, price, and delivery schedules.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment.
Monitor project costs, ensuring expenditures align with the approved budget.
4. Installation Implementation:Oversee the installation of ELV systems, ensuring compliance with design documents, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Supervise and guide subcontractors and on-site personnel during the installation phase to ensure correct and efficient implementation of ELV systems.
Conduct site inspections to verify that work is progressing as planned and addressing any technical issues or deviations.
Ensure systems are tested, configured, and properly integrated with other building systems.
2. System Commissioning Testing:Coordinate and manage the testing, commissioning, and handover of ELV systems.
Perform system tests and troubleshoot to ensure the proper functioning of all systems before final handover to the client.
Ensure all necessary documentation, including test results, certifications, and system manuals, are provided to clients upon completion.
3. Quality Control Safety Compliance:Monitor the quality of work, ensuring all installations meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure all safety protocols and industry regulations are followed during the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
Conduct periodic site safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
4. Documentation Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including design changes, installation reports, test results, and progress reports.
Prepare regular updates for the project manager and client, highlighting milestones, challenges, and completed tasks.
Ensure that all project documentation (including as-built drawings and operation manuals) is finalized and submitted to clients.
5. Client Liaison Support:Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all technical aspects of the ELV system.
Address client queries, concerns, and requests related to ELV systems and provide technical support as needed.
Provide training to clients or their sta on system operation and maintenance.
6. Team Collaboration Mentorship:Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure proper execution of all technical aspects of the project.
Mentor and guide junior engineers or technicians, assisting in their development of technical skills and knowledge of ELV systems.
Required Quali cations:
o 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of ELV systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarms, public address, structured cabling, etc.).
o Experience in project management or engineering roles within the ELV systems domain, including vendor management and project coordination.
Technical Skills:o Proficiency in ELV system design and integration, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
o Experience with industry-standard ELV products and systems.
o Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software for system design layouts.
o Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, ISO, local fire, and electrical codes).
Soft Skills:o Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
o Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact e ectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
o Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
