Job Description

The Project Engineer is assigned by Southco to lead the team responsible for achieving the project objectives, through the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to the project activities to meet the individual project and business requirements. This includes

the program requirements identification, selection and acquisition of support services (New Product Development and SBU team assignment, tooling, customers and so on). The Project Engineer needs to support the project feasibility checks (strategic, commercial, technical) and has full project responsibility from the project award or nomination to production sign off (PSW). This will involve close networking with and co-ordination of the NPD and SBU teams within Southco facilities both local and global, the sales team and external suppliers. Throughout the development process the Project Engineer leads and supports the team to ensure that the project budget, timelines and product specifications are met. The Project Engineer is also required to control and drive continual improvement of cost (and price via BDM) to achieve margin goals.

Job Accountabilities

2. Develop and maintain Workfront and the open project list as a visible communication and management tool.

Generate weekly engineering projects reports and conduct Weekly engineering review meetings with the.

3. Must work in line with Southcos project guidelines and meet each SBUs strategic goals and objectives,

assessing the commercial and manufacturing viability of projects, and working closely with the sales team.

4. Maintain and develop current processes, with a focus on Lessons Learnt and continuous improvement, and work closely with the extended Project Management team.

5. Kick off project management process to ensure that work on the identified projects establish project budget

(engineering hours, tooling budget, piece cost budget, project management hours) together with Engineering

Manager & BDM. Recommend piece price/tooling cost to BDM / Key Account Manager for further review,

ensure cost targets, quality requirements and timelines are met with the lowest possible manpower and cost

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1.Engineering University Degree required 2. Must have excellent.

2.English communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal Skills.

3. Must have strong project engineering experience (3+ Years) in

manufacturing Industry (automotive preferred)

4. Working Knowledge of MS Projects is preferred

5. Understanding of quality system IATF 16949 preferred
