Professor in Pediatric Nursing

. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academician with strong clinical expertise in child health nursing, proven research contributions, and leadership abilities to guide faculty and students. The role involves teaching, research, clinical supervision, and academic administration.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate (B.Sc. Nursing) and postgraduate (M.Sc. Nursing) courses in Pediatric/Child Health Nursing.
  • Develop lesson plans, academic modules, and clinical teaching strategies.
  • Guide students in case studies, care plans, seminars, and project work.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and internal examinations.

Clinical Supervision

  • Supervise students during clinical postings in pediatric wards, NICU, PICU, and community settings.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical standards, protocols, and patient-centered care.
  • Coordinate with hospitals and clinical partners for pediatric rotations.

Research & Publications

  • Lead research activities in the Pediatric Nursing domain.
  • Guide M.Sc. Nursing dissertations and research projects.
  • Publish quality papers in national/international journals.
  • Engage in conferences, workshops, and academic events.

Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Participate in curriculum development, academic planning, and departmental meetings.
  • Serve on committees such as IQAC, curriculum committee, and examination board.
  • Mentor junior faculty and contribute to faculty development activities.
  • Coordinate accreditation-related tasks for INC, UP State Nursing Council, and NAAC.

Student Development & Support

  • Provide academic counselling, professional guidance, and mentoring to nursing students.
  • Promote skill development, ethical practices, and compassionate pediatric care.
  • Organize workshops, simulation sessions, and skill-based training.

Qualifications & Experience

As per

INC/UGC norms

:
  • M.Sc. (Nursing) in Pediatric/Child Health Nursing is mandatory.
  • Ph.D. in Nursing (preferred but not always mandatory as per institutional norms).
  • Minimum 10–12 years of teaching experience in a recognized nursing institution, with at least 5 years at the Associate Professor level.
  • Strong clinical experience in pediatric nursing and advanced pediatric care.
