Job Description

As a senior design faculty member, you will play a key role in developing and teaching design courses spanning product design, communication design, and interior design. Your responsibilities will include: - Creating studio-based learning experiences that combine practical skills with design theory - Establishing industry partnerships for student projects and internships - Maintaining an active design practice and conducting research in design methodologies - Collaborating with design firms, technology companies, and community organizations - Leading student projects that address real-world design challenges - Partnering with faculty in various disciplines to integrate design thinking across university programs Qualifications required for this role: - Terminal degree in Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, or a related field - Strong professional design portfolio showcasing excellence in multiple design areas - University-level teaching experience using studio-based methods - Published research or exhibited creative work - Proficiency in industry-standard design software Preferred qualifications include: - Professional design practice experience - Expertise in sustainable design or design for social impact - Experience with digital fabrication and emerging design technologies - International design experience - Community-engaged design background This role emphasizes design thinking, sustainability, and technology integration in design education and practice.
