Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

The Professor in Mechatronics Engineering will lead academic, research, and innovation activities in the department. The role involves delivering lectures, mentoring students and junior faculty, guiding Ph.D. research, and establishing partnerships with industry and research organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
  
• Design and update curriculum aligned with current industrial and research trends.
  
• Supervise B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. research projects and theses.
  
• Publish impactful research in reputed international journals and conferences.
  
• Drive research initiatives and secure external funding (government/industry).
  
• Lead lab development in automation, robotics, control systems, or AI-integrated systems.
  
• Foster industry-academia collaborations and consultancy projects.
  
• Actively contribute to accreditations (NBA, NAAC), academic audits, and departmental planning.
  
• Mentor junior faculty and promote a research-driven academic environment.

Qualifications

• Educational:

  Ph.D. in Mechatronics / Mechanical / Electrical / Robotics / Electronics / Control Systems or a closely related discipline.

• Experience:

  Minimum 10 years of teaching/research/industry experience, including at least 4 years as an Associate Professor or equivalent.

• Publications:

  Strong record of research with publications in high-impact journals (SCI / Scopus-indexed), patents, or funded research projects.
