Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing construction, renovation, and maintenance of university buildings and facilities. This includes coordinating with contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and managing project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise construction and maintenance activities across campus buildings, roads, drainage, and other infrastructure.
  
• Prepare cost estimates, BOQs, tender documents, and project schedules.
  
• Ensure that all civil works comply with regulatory, environmental, and university standards.
  
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to monitor progress and resolve any on-site issues.
  
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, contractors, and vendors.
  
• Maintain records of materials, site logs, project reports, and compliance documentation.
  
• Support future infrastructure planning, sustainability initiatives, and space utilization projects.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech); Masters degree is a plus.
  
• Minimum 38 years of relevant experience in infrastructure/construction projects; preferably in institutional or campus environments.
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other civil engineering software tools.
  
• Strong knowledge of structural design, site management, and civil construction codes.
  
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in campus development or educational institution projects.
  
• Familiarity with green building concepts and sustainability practices.
  
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under minimal supervision.
