Description Qualification: Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines. Experience (Desirable): Ten years experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research/ industry position equivalent to that of an Associate Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry, including a minimum of four Ph.D. awarded under his/her supervision. They should have a minimum of fifteen publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals with a high level of citations of their published work. Should have also carried out multiple funded projects as PI/ Co-PI from government agencies or from industries. Roles & Responsibilities: Has made significant contributions in the field of specializations and has the ability to guide research. Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in the said discipline. Challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking. Contribution to educational innovations such as designing of new curriculum and/ or outstanding performing achievement in the field of specialization including engage and mentor younger faculty and help them deliver high-quality instructions in terms of teaching, labs, skilling and experiential learning to undergraduate and/or graduate students in their domain of expertise Develop the quality assurance framework within the Universitys overall framework, including the validation and revalidation of courses, and student admission and assessment. Participation in National/International Seminars/Conferences/ Workshops and/ or recipient of National/International Awards/ Fellowships Lead and coordinate research activity in the subject including determining relevant research objectives, and preparing research proposals with other educational institutions / national or international bodies. Write or contribute to publications or disseminate research findings using other appropriate media and seek practical application of research findings. Professors as they engage in active research and carry out independent research projects acting as principal investigator/ project leader, as a referee:contribute to peer assessment, thus contributing to the advancement of knowledge in their discipline, are also expected to mentor younger faculty, to create a team for sustainable research in their area of expertise in the university. Prepare and submit proposals and applications to external bodies, e.g. for funding and accreditation purposes. Contribute to University-wide planning and strategic development, and departmental-level strategic planning. Chair committees and participate in University decision-making and governance &promote and market the work of the Faculty and University in the subject area both nationally and internationally and support in University profile building. In the case of candidates with exceptional track records of research, innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging areas, the university may select such candidates giving due additional weightage to aspects including their publication, patents, entrepreneurial ventures and handling of unique projects in technological, social and administrative domains.
