Production Manager

We are looking for a highly experienced and result-oriented Production Manager to lead and optimize manufacturing operations, ensure consistent product quality, achieve production targets, and drive operational excellence in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Role & responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

• Plan, organize, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet output targets.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials. Process Optimization & Efficiency
• Continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce wastage, and control costs.
• Implement best manufacturing practices to achieve higher efficiency and consistency. Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to internal quality standards, SOPs, and certifications such as ISO 9001:2015 and SEDEX SMETA 4.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
• Lead, train, and motivate production teams including supervisors, operators, and line workers.
• Monitor performance, discipline, and productivity of the shop-floor workforce. Machinery & Maintenance Coordination
• Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of production machinery to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance. Inventory & Material Coordination
• Work closely with the Purchase, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Monitor consumption patterns and minimize excess or obsolete inventory. Safety, Hygiene & Compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, hygiene, and workplace compliance standards.
• Implement safety audits, training, and preventive measures on the shop floor. New Product & Process Support
• Support R&D and Sales teams during new product trials, scale-ups, and client-specific requirements.
• Ensure smooth transition from trial batches to commercial production. Reporting & MIS
• Prepare and submit daily and monthly production reports, efficiency metrics, and loss analysis to management.
• Track KPIs such as yield, downtime, rejection, and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in production/manufacturing roles.

Prior experience in FMCG, Home Care, Air Care, Fragrance, or OEM manufacturing is strongly preferred.

• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of gel and powder formulations, sachet packaging, and high-speed production lines.
• Key Skills:

Strong leadership and people management skills

Process optimization and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of ERP systems and production planning tools

Excellent communication and coordination skills

• Adaptability: Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment with tight timelines.
