Production Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to build and lead our entire on-field manufacturing operations in Coimbatore. This role is a critical link between the Chennai-based design team and our production floor, translating sophisticated designs into flawless physical products.

You will be the company's primary expert on manufacturing, responsible for advising on material selection, optimizing all processes, and managing the complete production lifecycle for our product categories. We are looking for an engineering-minded leader obsessed with quality, efficiency, and building a "lackless" workflow from raw material to final packaged goods. The ideal candidate has a continuous learning mindset and is passionate about adopting new technologies to build a new-generation manufacturing unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Material & Process Leadership:

  Act as the primary technical expert on manufacturing processes and materials (metals, alloys, polymers). Advise the design team on the optimal material and process selection for new products based on application, cost, and manufacturability.

• Design for Manufacturability (DFM):

  Provide critical DFM feedback to the Chennai design team to ensure designs are not only beautiful but also efficient and reliable to produce at scale.

• End-to-End Workflow Management:

  Design, implement, and manage the complete production lifecycle for entire product categories. Ensure a seamless and efficient flow from raw material, through fabrication and finishing, to final QC, assembly, packaging, and hand-off to the shipping/logistics team.

• Quality Assurance & Control:

  Develop, implement, and enforce non-negotiable quality standards. Build a robust QC system at every stage of production to ensure a "zero defect" output that meets Caraltock's premium brand promise.

• Continuous Improvement & Technology:

  Proactively research, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing technologies, automation, and processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, including CRM software.

• Team Leadership & Development:

  Lead, manage, schedule, and most importantlytrain and upskill the entire on-field blue-collar workforce. Build a high-performance team focused on quality and accountability.

• Cross-Functional Coordination:

  Serve as the primary production partner to the Sales Manager (Coimbatore) and Design Team (Chennai). Provide accurate, data-driven information on production capacity, lead times, and inventory to support sales and new product development.

• Safety & Compliance:

  Enforce a strict culture of factory safety, ensuring all operations comply with relevant health and safety standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Strong team player.
• Proven experience as a Production Manager or Manufacturing Engineer in a high-precision industry (e.g., premium hardware/fittings, precision engineering, high-end appliances).
• Deep, practical knowledge of various metals, alloys, and polymers and their manufacturing applications.
• Expertise in metal fabrication (preferably Laser welding, Clinching, and Laser Marking machines), CNC machining, and various high-end finishing processes.
• Strong experience in process mapping, workflow design, and implementing production efficiency principles (e.g., LEAN, 5S), including material planning and logistics.
• Ethical and strong working relationships with various vendors.
• Ability to identify, develop new jobwork vendors, and negotiate with them ethically.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate an on-field, blue-collar workforce.
• Working Knowledge of CRM / ERP software.
• A "player-coach" mentality with a hands-on, on-the-floor leadership style.
• A provable "learning mindset" with a curiosity for new manufacturing technologies and a track record of implementing them.
• Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
• Must be fluent in

  Tamil

  (for managing the floor team) and have professional proficiency in

  English

  (for coordinating with the Chennai team).

  Hindi

  as additional language to manage some workforce is preferred.
• Experience with setting up a new production line or facility is a significant advantage.
