Job Summary

The Production Head in shipbuilding oversees and manages all production activities to ensure the efficient and cost-effective construction of vessels that meet quality standards and project deadlines. This role involves team leadership, resource planning, compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the production team to deliver shipbuilding projects on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
• Develop and implement production schedules, workflows, and processes to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Monitor project progress, troubleshoot production issues, and take corrective action as necessary to maintain project timelines.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of production plans.
• Manage resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production goals.4
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain detailed records and reports of production activities, performance metrics, and project outcomes.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety within the production workforce.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and senior management, to provide updates and address concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• More than 15 years of experience in shipbuilding production or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes, tools, and technologies.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale shipbuilding projects.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements in the shipbuilding industry.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
