Production Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Process Optimization

• Manage daily E-Bike assembly line operations with minimal downtime.
  
• Optimize takt time, cycle time, and OEE to ensure high throughput.
  
• Implement Standard Work procedures for consistent quality and efficiency.
  
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve design or assembly issues.
  

2. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

• Apply Lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, VSM) to reduce waste and enhance flow.
  
• Use Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, DFSS) to minimize defects in E-Bike assembly.
  
• Conduct RCA (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA) to eliminate recurring failures (battery, motor, controller).
  

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and EV industry standards.
  
• Monitor quality checkpoints (battery fitment, wiring, torque specs, waterproofing).
  
• Lead PFMEA to proactively identify and mitigate risks in assembly processes.
  
• Work closely with Quality to ensure Zero-Defect E-Bike delivery.
  

4. Equipment & Tooling Management

• Maintain calibration of torque tools, fixtures, and EV test equipment.
  
• Drive predictive & preventive maintenance for assembly machinery.
  
• Improve workstation layouts considering ergonomics and safety.
  

5. Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards specific to

  EV batteries & high-voltage systems

• Conduct regular safety audits and enforce PPE & LOTO practices.
  
• Train staff on safe handling of batteries, chargers, and electrical components.
  

6. Cost Reduction & Efficiency Enhancement

• Identify material/labor cost-saving opportunities in E-Bike production.
  
• Implement JIT & Kanban for battery packs, frames, motors, and components.
  
• Perform Time & Motion Studies to remove bottlenecks.
  

7. Team Leadership & Training

• Lead and mentor production teams in E-Bike assembly best practices.
  
• Train technicians in

  EV safety protocols, Lean & Six Sigma
