Product Support Engineer

Role Overview

ED5 is looking for a technically proficient Product Support Engineer App & Web who will be responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across our Android application and backend website architecture. The engineer will ensure platform stability, seamless performance, and uninterrupted access for our users—students, teachers, schools, and administrators.

The ideal candidate must possess strong debugging skills, backend understanding, and practical exposure to multiple programming languages and app frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Android App Support & Debugging

• Identify, analyze, and resolve application crashes, UI glitches, and performance issues.
• Debug using Android Studio, Logcat, Firebase Crashlytics, and related tools.
• Test app flows across different devices, screen resolutions, and OS versions.
• Work with the development team to implement patches, performance enhancements, and optimized builds.
• Monitor Google Play reviews, crash logs, user-reported issues, and take proactive actions.
• Ensure stable and fully verified releases by coordinating with QA for regression/sanity testing.

2. Web & Backend System Support

• Manage and troubleshoot ED5’s backend systems, dashboards, CMS panels, and portals.
• Resolve routing errors, server communication failures, API issues, and database-related bugs.
• Update content, configurations, landing pages, banners, course modules, and user access permissions.
• Coordinate with web developers for UI/UX improvements, feature deployments, and security updates.
• Monitor server uptime, backend services, and ensure data accuracy across systems.

Technical Skill Requirements

Programming Languages & Frameworks (Must Have Exposure To)

• Kotlin (for Android debugging and understanding mobile architecture)
• Java (Android + backend integration familiarity)
• React Native (for cross-platform app structure understanding)
• Python (API reading, backend automation, log analysis scripts preferred)

Note: Candidate does not need to be a core developer but should be comfortable reading code, understanding logic, and supporting debugging teams using these languages.

Core Technical Skills

• Android OS internals, APK build processes, crash diagnostics
• REST API analysis, JSON structures, error payload interpretation
• Familiarity with MySQL/PostgreSQL databases
• Experience with Git / Bitbucket version control
• Knowledge of web hosting, basic server-side troubleshooting (AWS/GCP advantage)

Bonus Skills (Preferred)

• CI/CD exposure (Jenkins, Bitrise, Fastlane)
• App performance monitoring & profiling tools
• UI/UX awareness to identify functional breakpoints
• Basic scripting/automation for logs and error reproduction
