Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

• Design and develop tools and components that meet specific functional and manufacturing requirements.

• Create detailed 3D concept drawings, prototype designs, and production drawings using CAD software.

• Design specialized tools like press tools, dies, molds, and assembly fixtures.

Technical Expertise:

• Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) to create drafting work and detailed models.

• Research and select raw materials appropriate for product specifications.

• Apply engineering principles, company standards, and customer specifications to designs.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Consult with designers, engineers, and shop personnel to resolve design problems.

• Coordinate with the engineering team to provide accurate completion dates for design assignments.

• Communicate technical expectations to shop personnel and purchasing departments through detailed bills of materials and specifications.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Prepare accurate and complete production drawings, including final drawings for machining and assembly.

• Generate bills of materials (BOM) for all required production hardware and raw materials.

• Ensure documentation and engineering records are properly maintained and compliant with standards.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Technical Proficiency:

• Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) for modeling and drafting

Experience:

• 4–6 years in Product Design in a manufacturing environment

• Proven experience in consumer goods or appliance manufacturing

Design Skills:

• Ability to develop innovative and practical designs for various tools and components

Collaboration:

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Attention to Detail:

• Meticulous attention to detail for producing accurate drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
