Product Designer I

Tekion is redefining automotive retail through its unified, cloud-first platform Tekion Operating Cloud (TOC) enabling world-class experiences for automotive retailers, OEMs, and partners.As a Product Designer 1 on our Chennai TOC design team, you ll help create seamless, intuitive digital solutions for complex business workflows that make a real difference for users. In this highly collaborative environment, youll design high-impact, scalable experiences for real-world problems, balancing strong systems thinking with exceptional executional craft.This role offers the perfect opportunity for a mid-level designer to take on greater ownership of product and design decisions, and have a deep influence on product direction through thoughtful, user-centred solutions across multiple user journeys, modules, and touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow Designers to conceptualise, create, and deliver innovative, user-centric features for the Tekion Operating Cloud.


• Drive the design process end-to-end: conduct and document user research, map user journeys, create flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes, and contribute to polished visual designs.


• Build, maintain, and expand our component library and variable usage in Figma, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.


• Use Tekions design system thoughtfully and contribute to its evolution by identifying


• gaps or proposing enhancements.


• Advocate for exceptional UX by deeply understanding user personas and complex business workflows in the automotive and cloud platform space.


• Integrate user research, usability testing, and analytics into your design decisions for continuous improvement.


• Share work frequently and participate in design critiques with distributed and on-site teams.


• Communicate your design decisions effectively to a variety of audiences and adapt your storytelling as needed.

Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of experience designing digital products, especially in B2B, SaaS, or enterprise web applications.


• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX/UI covering user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, final UI, and shipped products.


• Advanced proficiency in design tools, especially Figma (auto-layout, variables, advanced prototyping, design systems, and component management).


• Experience working across web, iOS, and Android platforms.


• A clear grasp of product thinking, user psychology, and agile team dynamics.


• Strong communication and storytelling skills-you articulate decisions and rationale confidently across disciplines.


• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and proactively clarify problems through a mix of research, collaboration, and iteration.
