Product Design Engineer who can create intuitive user experiences in Figma and

bring them to life in React (TypeScript). You’ll own design and frontend development, with exposure to backend systems for context and collaboration.

Responsibilities

1.⁠ ⁠User Experience & Design

2.⁠ ⁠Translate product requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.

3.⁠ ⁠Define and maintain design systems, style guides, and component libraries.

4.⁠ ⁠Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure designs are user-centered and feasible.

5.⁠ ⁠Frontend Engineering

6.⁠ ⁠Implement responsive, accessible UIs in React (TypeScript).

7.⁠ ⁠Build interactive components for visualization, search, and workflows.

8.⁠ ⁠Ensure performance, scalability, and consistency across the platform.

9.⁠ ⁠Collaboration with Backend

10.⁠ ⁠Partner with backend engineers to integrate APIs and data flows.

11.⁠ ⁠Maintain awareness of serverless/cloud concepts (AWS Lambda, GraphQL, REST APIs) without needing to own backend development.

Requirements

1.⁠ ⁠Strong expertise in Figma (design systems, prototyping, component libraries).

2.⁠ ⁠Proficiency in React (TypeScript) and modern component-driven architecture.

3.⁠ ⁠Experience building polished, user-facing applications.

4.⁠ ⁠Familiarity with design-to-code workflows and collaboration with backend engineers.

5.⁠ ⁠Knowledge of GraphQL/REST APIs and cloud services (AWS Amplify, Lambda,

DynamoDB) is a plus.

Nice-to-Have

1.⁠ ⁠Experience with 3D visualization libraries (e.g., 3Dmol.js, RDKit.js).

2.⁠ ⁠Background in data-heavy apps (large datasets, search/sort/pagination).

3.⁠ ⁠Experience integrating third-party APIs.
