Product Design Engineer

Creation of 3D models and 2D drawings of turbocharger components, assemblies and subassemblies in accordance with Garrett design standards and ASME. Ensuring fit & function of all components and assemblies. Interacting with cross-functional development engineers to achieve common goals

Role & responsibilities

Creation of 3D models and 2D drawings of full products, assemblies and subassemblies according to Garrett design standards and ASME.

Cooperation with cross functional team to adapt customer requirements, leading product plan.

Follow Internal processes and participate on their development.

Following actively and continuously work on own goals.

To drive activities (design, FEA, CFD, APQP, etc.) for development of turbocharger technologies, as part of new product development and customer launch. Design, simulate & qualify the turbocharger components and assemblies to meet internal validation requirements and customer needs. Define operation limits and update product specification

Accountability for design work in quality, delivery & productivity aspects, at project level.

Active participation in internal and external design reviews.

Owner of specific design initiative, responsibility for their local or global deployment and functionality, Examples: specific customer requirements, simulation tools, Design Standards & Quality, etc. / for key and global activites.

Evaluating and proving fit and function of overall assemblies or particular features.

Built design in respect of safety, reliability, manufacturability, assembly processes & cost. Cooperation with cross function team on verification of specific requirements from these areas.

Preferred candidate profile

Education :BE in Mechanical / Automobile engineering.

Expereince : 8-10 years experience in design of engineering components, both 2D & 3D, dimensioning, geometrical dimensioning & tolerance. Preferably in automotive industry. Experience in automotive, mechanical design or testing is preferred.

Key Skill :

Advanced user of 3D CAD for industrial design (both 3D/2D), preferable CATIA.

Knowledge of casting, machining and assembly processes. Ability to perform Stack-up and built assembly layouts.

Ability to perform basic structural simulation per given templates & strong analytics skills.

Fundamental knowledge of IC engines, project management and ability to follow it

Fluent in English, both speaking and writing, expected level intermediate B2 (CEFR)

Ability to perform under pressure & multi-tasking

Strong communication skills and team player. Willingness to learn and positive mindset
