Job Description

Job Purpose

MMCF (Man-Made Cellulosic Fibres), cotton, and synthetic textile materials

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development & Innovation

  • Identify and develop new yarn and fabric products across MMCF, cotton, synthetic and blended categories.
  • Drive innovation in fibre blends, fabric structures, finishes, and performance attributes based on market trends.
  • Collaborate with production, and quality teams to commercialize new developments efficiently.
  • Benchmark global textile trends and translate them into product strategies suitable for domestic and international markets.
  • Foster partnerships with fibre producers and technology providers for continuous innovation.

2. Market & Business Development

  • Formulate and execute business strategies to expand market reach in domestic and export segments.
  • Develop and manage relationships with

    brands, retailers, and garment manufacturers

    to position the company as a preferred partner.
  • Identify new business opportunities in specialty yarns, sustainable textiles, and value-added fabrics.
  • Analyse market potential for emerging fibres (e.g., TENCEL, Viscose, Modal, Recycled Polyester, Organic Cotton) and recommend business initiatives.
  • Drive revenue growth by expanding into new product categories and applications.

3. Brand Engagement & Customer Interface

  • Engage with global and domestic brands for product presentations, approvals, and collaborations.
  • Understand brand requirements, seasonal trends, and sustainability mandates to align development pipelines.
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and technical conferences to showcase innovations.
  • Build strategic alliances with buyers, converters, and garmenting partners.

4. Strategic Planning & Trend Alignment

  • Track fashion, performance, and sustainability trends to anticipate future product needs.
  • Integrate

    sustainability and circularity

    principles into product and business strategies.
  • Work with marketing and design teams to develop seasonal product stories and fabric collections.
  • Lead feasibility studies for diversification into new fibres, yarn counts, and market segments.

5. Cross-functional Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the product and business development teams to drive innovation and market responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with spinning, weaving, processing, and sales teams to ensure successful execution of development projects.
  • Monitor customer feedback and translate insights into continuous product improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    B. Tech / M. Tech in Textile Technology or MBA in Marketing / International Business.
  • Experience:

    10–20 years in product and business development within spinning, yarn, or fabric manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in handling

    MMCF, cotton, synthetic and blends

    materials for both

    knitting and weaving

    markets.
  • Strong track record of engaging with global brands and developing trend-driven textile products.

Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of fibre-to-fabric value chain and textile manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of global market trends, sustainability standards, and brand requirements.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical mindset with commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and market analysis tools.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple development projects simultaneously.
