Role Overview: As a technical, customer-facing Product Advocate at Kong Inc., you will serve as the bridge between Kong Konnect's product, users, and go-to-market teams. Your primary goal will be to engage with high-intent prospects, assist in technical evaluations, and drive adoption by supporting developers and decision-makers throughout their journey. This role is an integral part of Kongs product-led growth (PLG) strategy, combining technical expertise with sales skills to ensure user success. Key Responsibilities: - Proactive technical outreach: Identify and engage high-value free-tier users (PQLs) for potential conversion, providing hands-on guidance and resources. - Evaluation support: Guide prospects through product capabilities, assist in setting up proof-of-concepts, and address technical queries to expedite time-to-value. - Conversion enablement: Collaborate with growth and sales teams to transition users from free to paid plans, showcasing how Kong Konnect meets their requirements. - Feedback loop to product: Gather and communicate structured feedback from prospects and customers to influence product roadmap decisions. - Advocate playbooks: Develop and enhance outreach scripts, demo flows, and objection-handling strategies for efficient technical discussions. - Cross-functional handoff: Ensure seamless transitions from PLG-driven users to sales-assisted deals, offering comprehensive context to account teams. Qualifications Required: - 3+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, developer advocacy, or product specialist roles. - Proficiency in APIs, developer tools, and cloud-native concepts, with the ability to translate technical features into business value. - Demonstrated success in influencing technical buyers, conducting product demos, and managing multiple concurrent conversations. - Ability to adapt communication styles for both technical users and business stakeholders, thriving on customer-facing interactions. - Proactive and data-driven approach to identifying usage patterns and prioritizing outreach efforts. - Bonus: Familiarity with API gateways, Kubernetes, service mesh, or related infrastructure products.
