Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist at Hitachi Energy, you will be an integral part of the High Voltage Business team based in Savli, India. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, rules, and policies. Your duties will include developing purchasing strategies, fostering positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating supply needs with internal teams, and managing the procurement process from order placement to delivery. It will be crucial for you to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain. Additionally, you will assess and mitigate risks within the supply chain, identify potential disruptions, and implement contingency plans. Your key responsibilities will involve handling both import and domestic procurement, material planning and tracking based on production plans, purchase and logistics management of various commodities, and conducting project reviews to establish delivery schedules and project timelines. You will collaborate with quality control teams to maintain quality standards of incoming materials and effectively communicate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs. To excel in this role, you should hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with 3-6 years of procurement experience at a multinational corporation in the relevant industry, preferably from a GIS manufacturing company. Your expertise should include knowledge of import and export material handling, excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound interpersonal skills, and proficiency in SAP MM and MS Office. It will be essential for you to possess strong follow-up and expedite materials skills, a basic understanding of engineering drawings, and proficiency in spoken and written English.
