Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Procurement Manager at Artius is pivotal in sourcing best-in-class materials and servicesparticularly premium timber, Glulam components, fittings, and related supplies for luxury architectural applications. This role ensures seamless project delivery, cost efficiency, supplier excellence, and sustainability alignment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for high-quality timber, Glulam sections, and hardware
  • Build long-term partnerships, negotiate contracts, and institute performance benchmarks (on-time delivery, quality, compliance, environmental standards).

Procurement Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Design, and Operations to forecast material needs across timber homes, windows/doors, and mass-timber structures.
  • Issue RFQs, issue purchase orders, track delivery, and manage vendor performance and documentation.

Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Source competitively while aligning with product quality and sustainability, leveraging economies of scale.
  • Lead cost-reduction strategies without compromising on quality and align with project budgets.

Inventory & Logistics Management

  • Work closely with the Supply Chain team to manage inventory timber, hardware, and consumablesensuring storage, damage prevention, and availability align with project execution.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers for timely transport & delivery on sites.

Quality Assurance & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure procured materials meet technical specifications, performance standards (weather, sound insulation), and sustainability expectations.
  • Mitigate supply risks by developing alternate sourcing channels and maintaining supply resilience.

Sustainability & Compliance

  • Uphold Artiuss commitment to environmentally responsible architecture by prioritizing sustainably sourced materials and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with R&D and production to anticipate future material needs and innovation requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Forestry, Engineering, or a related discipline, with 5–8 years of proven experience in procurement—preferably within construction, timber, or architectural manufacturing industries.

A strong understanding of engineered wood, Glulam technology, and international sourcing practices will be an added advantage. The role requires excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, proficiency in forecasting, along with the ability to draft and manage contracts effectively. Strong communication, stakeholder coordination, and analytical skills are essential, coupled with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
