Procurement Head

A leading client of Empower Resources requires SCM- Head for a manufacturing company

• Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and strategies.
• Lead sourcing initiatives to ensure cost-effective and timely purchasing.
• Negotiate major contracts and manage supplier relationships.
• Monitor procurement KPIs (cost savings, vendor performance, etc.).

2. Supply Chain Planning

• Design and oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory control.
• Optimize supply chain networks to reduce lead times and costs.
• Coordinate with production, sales, and finance to ensure alignment with business goals.

3. Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard key suppliers and service providers.
• Conduct regular supplier audits and performance reviews.
• Develop strategic partnerships and mitigate supplier risks.

4. Logistics and Distribution

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics.
• Ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of goods.
• Manage warehousing, transportation contracts, and 3PL relationships.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to local and international procurement regulations.
• Mitigate risks in sourcing and logistics through strategic planning.
• Drive sustainability and ESG compliance in supply chain operations.

6. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the SCM and procurement team.
• Build a high-performance culture with strong accountability and collaboration.
• Foster cross-functional coordination with other departments.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Engineering, Commerce, or Supply Chain Management. MBA or PGDM (preferably in Operations or Supply Chain) is highly desirable.

• Certifications:

  Additional certifications like CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or Six Sigma are advantageous.

Experience:

• Years of Experience:

  20+ years, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role in Procurement and SCM.

• Industry Exposure:

  Manufacturing, FMCG, Automotive, Pharma, Retail,
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and vendor management.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data-driven decision-making.
