Job Description

Responsibilities:-

  • Develop and share rolling

    Material Requirement Plans (MRP)

    with vendors based on production forecasts.
  • Monitor adherence to vendor delivery schedules and resolve supply disruptions.
  • Align supply plans with

    production planning

    and maintain buffer stock for critical items.
  • Drive vendor performance reviews on

    OTIF (On-Time-In-Full)

    , quality, and cost.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Manage procurement of direct materials, consumables, and factory indirect materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with vendors to ensure cost competitiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with

    local and regional vendors

    while developing alternate sources for risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory norms.

Materials & Inventory Management

  • Implement

    MRP / ERP system-driven planning

    to manage material flow and visibility.
  • Maintain optimal

    inventory levels

    (raw materials, WIP, and finished goods) while minimizing working capital.
  • Oversee

    cycle counting, physical stock verification, and reconciliation

    .
  • Track and reduce

    inventory carrying costs, obsolescence, and non-moving stock

    .

Warehouse & Stores Operations

  • Lead warehouse operations covering

    receiving, storage, preservation, and issue

    of materials.
  • Ensure

    5S, safety, and material handling practices

    are rigorously followed.
  • Implement

    FIFO / FEFO systems

    and barcode/RFID-based traceability.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including coordination with transporters.
  • Supervise a team of

    storekeepers, warehouse executives, and material handlers

    .

Cross-functional Alignment

  • Work closely with

    Production, Quality, Finance, and Sales teams

    to align demand, supply, and inventory.
  • Support

    NPI (New Product Introduction)

    projects by coordinating with vendors for proto/initial supplies.
  • Ensure smooth handling of

    imported materials

    (if applicable) in coordination with customs & logistics partners.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce

    .
  • hands on experience in

    Materials Management, Procurement, or Warehousing

    in

    home appliances / consumer durables / electronics

    manufacturing.
  • Expertise in

    demand planning, inventory control, vendor management, and logistics

    .
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and soft skills to be able to manage vendors

Good to Have:

  • Experience with

    lean manufacturing, JIT, and Kanban systems

    .
  • Exposure to

    import/export documentation

    and

    customs clearance

    .
  • Knowledge of

    statutory compliances

    related to warehousing (Weights & Measures Act, GST for warehousing, etc.).
