Procurement Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process and coordinating with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business needs. Your main tasks will include preparing and issuing purchase orders, monitoring and tracking orders for on-time delivery, evaluating supplier performance data, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as production, finance, engineering, and operations - Prepare and issue purchase orders to ensure material availability in line with manufacturing/project requirements - Monitor and track orders to ensure on-time delivery of projects - Evaluate supplier performance data to identify improvement opportunities - Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance for compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree/diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering - Minimum 5-7 years of professional work experience in purchase - Experience with S4 HANA/SAP MM PP Module - Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in both spoken and written English language - Knowledge of GST, VAT, custom clearance, and other taxations - Familiarity with ERP S4 HANA/SAP environment and tools like lean manufacturing, KANBAN, and VMI - Experience in basic material planning based on continuous production planning - Proven analytical skills with experience in cost-cutting/cost-saving activities Additional Company Details (if applicable): You will be expected to embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
