Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer in the HVAC industry is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes for HVAC products. This role involves optimizing production, enhancing product quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization:
Process Development: Design and develop manufacturing processes for HVAC systems and components, considering efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Process Improvement: Continuously analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes to reduce waste, increase productivity, and improve product quality.
Automation: Identify opportunities for automation and implement automated solutions to streamline production.
Quality Assurance:
Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control measures and inspection procedures to ensure that HVAC products meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and address quality issues, non-conformities, and defects in the manufacturing process. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed.
Manufacturing Documentation:
Work Instructions: Develop and maintain detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes to ensure consistency.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production parameters, process changes, and performance data.
Equipment and Tooling:
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
Tooling: Design, develop, and maintain tooling and fixtures required for efficient production.
Lean Manufacturing:
Lean Principles: Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
Health and Safety:
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing activities adhere to safety regulations and standards. Promote a culture of safety among manufacturing staff.
Cost Reduction:
Cost Analysis: Identify opportunities for cost reduction in the manufacturing process while maintaining or improving product quality.
