Principal Software Engineer

As a Principal Software Engineer at Autodesk, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Factory Design solutions in Autodesk Fusion. Your focus will be on creating applications targeted at Factory Design and Simulation, ensuring efficient layout design and optimization for our global customers. Reporting to the Manager of Software Development for Factory Design, you will engage in technical and architectural discussions to drive the development of innovative features and functions that enhance the user experience. Your responsibilities will include leading the planning, design, development, and testing of key features/functions, collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and build technical strategies, and engaging in hands-on software development for scalable products. You will also be responsible for performing code reviews, providing feedback for tool improvements, and upholding engineering best practices within the team. To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of industry experience in building robust and maintainable commercial applications. You should have a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and expertise in technologies such as C++, C#, .Net Core & .Net Framework. Experience with CAD tools, database technologies, build automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and Agile methodologies is essential. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in computer science, experience developing add-ins, plugins, or content libraries (Autodesk preferred), and familiarity with CAD concepts related to Inventor, AutoCAD, and Factory Design Utilities. You should possess excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
