Principal Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview: At CommBank, as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices within the organization. You will be empowered to enhance the reliability of key products and services, engage with operational teams to improve incident management, and advocate for SRE best practices both internally and externally. Key Responsibilities: - Drive the adoption of SRE principles and practices across the Group by influencing product and service roadmaps and ensuring reliability is a top priority at the executive level. - Develop processes and strategic tooling to improve observability and quickly address reliability risks impacting customers. - Enhance the operability of services through strategic optimizations to architecture, infrastructure, release management, and observability processes. - Collaborate with operational teams to triage incidents, conduct postmortems, and implement improvements to incident management processes. - Support critical services in a 24x7 online environment through participation in on-call rotation and escalation workflows. - Influence executive stakeholders to prioritize reliability and standardize SRE practices across services, infrastructure, and processes. - Advocate for SRE principles through speaking engagements, knowledge sharing sessions, and technical blog posts. - Mentor engineering team members, stakeholders, and executive leaders on SRE best practices. Qualification Required: - 14+ years of experience in Software Engineering. - Strong experience with modern software development practices and tools like git, CI/CD tools, and public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). - Experience leading teams using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, AppDynamics. - Proficiency in Linux internals, networking, containers, and troubleshooting. - Experience applying SRE Practices in large organizations with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. - Bachelor's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.,
