Principal Senior Technical Officer

You are invited to apply for the position of Principal Senior Technical Officer at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida. As the Principal Senior Technical Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall instrumentation activities. Your primary responsibilities will include providing technical leadership and supervision to the instrumentation team, ensuring the effective maintenance, repair, and operation of instruments related to Life Science, Basic Science, and Engineering research. You will also be in charge of instrument management, which involves overseeing the procurement, installation, calibration, and maintenance of instruments for the common facility. This includes reviewing and renewing CMCs and AMCs to ensure that the instruments are in good working condition. In addition, you will be responsible for providing technical support to research groups, assisting in preparing specifications and procurement processes, training users on instrument operation, and developing SOPs. You will also be tasked with identifying opportunities for instrument upgrades and modernization to keep the instrumentation facility state-of-the-art. As the Principal Senior Technical Officer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing training programs for instrumentation staff to keep them updated on the latest technologies and techniques. You will also collaborate with application specialists from companies to conduct workshops for faculty members. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining the inventory of spares related to equipment, coordinating with Deans and HODs for lab renovation/modifications and installation of new equipment, managing the instrumentation team including recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development, and overseeing the instrumentation budget to allocate resources effectively. To be considered for this role, you should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology, along with at least 5-7 years of experience in instrument maintenance, procurement, and repair. You should have a proven track record of managing instrument maintenance and procurement processes, strong leadership and communication skills, and familiarity with university policies and procedures.
