Principal Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview: As a Principal Mechanical Engineer at OCS Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and reliable operation of rotating equipment aboard FPSO. Your role will involve leading the implementation of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), managing condition monitoring and diagnostics, advising on installation and maintenance of mechanical seals and bearings, planning and executing maintenance activities, supervising overhauls, maintaining spare parts strategy, leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and mentoring technicians in monitoring techniques and reliability practices. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the safe and reliable operation of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, generators) aboard FPSO. - Lead implementation of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and ensure maximum equipment uptime. - Manage condition monitoring and diagnostics (vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication, acoustic monitoring). - Advise on installation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical seals and bearings (API 682 compliant). - Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance aligned with OEM guidelines. - Supervise overhauls and intrusive maintenance during shutdowns and turnarounds. - Maintain critical spare parts strategy, CMMS records, and support procurement teams. - Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and continuous improvement initiatives. - Mentor and coach technicians in monitoring techniques, seal installation, and reliability practices. Qualifications Required: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). - Minimum 10 years of experience. - Strong expertise in condition monitoring, mechanical seals & bearings, and reliability engineering. - Proven ability in troubleshooting, failure analysis, and maintenance execution planning. - Experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM preferred). - Strong leadership and mentoring skills capable of developing teams and driving continuous improvement. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural offshore environments.,
