Job Description

The successful applicant for the role will be responsible for leading and managing comprehensive water resource management studies for mining projects, from conceptual design through to implementation and optimization. You will utilize advanced modeling and simulation tools to predict water-related risks, evaluate mitigation measures, and enable data-driven decision-making for clients. Your responsibilities will also include evaluating mine tailings dam integrity, conducting hydrological studies, analyzing storms, undertaking hydraulic computations, and engaging in hydraulic simulations to estimate floods and assess risks. Additionally, you will lead the team in designing water management infrastructure for mines, providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, preparing detailed reports and documentation, and executing project management responsibilities. Key Competencies: Mandatory Skills: - Experience in flood-related studies for environmental assessments and infrastructure design projects, with a focus on Mining, Water, and Urban Development sectors - Total Experience of 10-14 years - Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality modeling practices - Proficiency in relevant Australian guidelines - Experience with software such as TUFLOW, ICM, HEC-RAS, and GIS programs - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - Effective communication and interpersonal skills Desired Skills: - Track record of successfully delivering water-related projects - Ability to meet clients" needs, program, and budgetary constraints - Proven technical expertise in civil/water resource engineering - Experience in managing water resource engineers and supporting mining business outside of India - Ability to challenge the status quo and apply innovation in work Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and master's degree in water resource engineering preferred - Extensive professional experience in water resources engineering - Experience in an International context preferred About Us: WSP is a global professional services consulting firm dedicated to providing lasting solutions in various sectors.
