Principal Database Engineer

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Act as a technical expert on one or more applications utilized by DTCC
• Optimize database performance, tune indexes, and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure efficient operation
• Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of the data warehouse infrastructure, including servers, databases, and network connections
• Plan, execute, and maintain regular data backups and disaster recovery procedures
• Provide technical expertise, troubleshoot issues, and interface with Oracle for technical support when necessary
• Implement and maintain security controls, manage user accounts, and ensure the integrity of the data
• Support development teams, testing, troubleshooting, and production support
• Create applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements
• Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
• Work with the Business System Analyst to ensure designs satisfy functional requirements

• Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with DTCC technology standards

• Expert knowledge of data warehouse concepts, structures, and systems.
• Experience with ETL processes and tools
• Expert with performance tuning and database optimization.
• Proficiency with Oracle technologies, such as Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data management frameworks.
• Knowledge of reporting design and delivering reporting solutions.
