Job Description

As a Proposal cum Business Development Engineer at Lummus Technology, you will play a crucial role in leading the preparation of techno-commercial proposals and supporting strategic business development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include: Role Overview: You will bridge engineering expertise with customer engagement to ensure the preparation of competitive and technically sound proposals while nurturing long-term client relationships. Your role will involve analyzing customer RFQs and specifications, coordinating with various teams, preparing detailed techno-commercial proposals, and supporting estimation and pricing strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze customer RFQs and specifications; coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams to develop comprehensive proposals. - Prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals, technical queries (TQs), and clarifications. - Support estimation and pricing strategies through technical and market analysis. - Develop execution philosophies, modularization options, and supply conditions aligned with project requirements. - Manage pre-qualification documentation for major international clients. - Identify new business opportunities and support early-stage engagement with potential clients. - Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders. - Collaborate with Sales to align proposal strategies with broader business goals. - Conduct competitor analysis and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions. - Ensure proposals meet internal guidelines on risk, profitability, and compliance. - Liaise with legal, finance, and tax teams for proposal-related matters. - Actively engage with customers to understand needs and propose tailored solutions. - Support contract negotiations and assist in project handover to execution teams. - Ensure compliance with quality requirements described in the QMS manuals for continual improvement. Qualifications Required: - Suitable master's degree, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field, or relevant experience. - Professional with a technical background in PP/polyolefin catalysts, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in R&D, manufacturing, technology licensing, and/or catalyst sales of polyolefins. - Previous experience in marketing/sales in an international environment. - Petrochemical/polyolefins operations/planning/consulting background is desirable. - Strong leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal and self-management skills. - Capability of earning respect of the team and influencing others. - Interest in being knowledgeable in polymers production technologies. - Capability of driving technology development based on market requirements and trends. - Willingness for worldwide business trips, knowledge of many cultures/international style. - Accompany prospects to reference plant visits.
