Primavera P6 EPPM On-Premise System Administrator

Role & responsibilities

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain Primavera P6 EPPM application servers and client modules.
• Manage system-level configurations for the enterprise project scheduling solution.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and updates following change management practices.

2. Database Administration:

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database servers for Primavera P6.
• Monitor database performance, perform tuning, and optimize queries.
• Manage high-availability database environments, including clustering and failover configurations.
• Plan and execute backups, disaster recovery, and failover tests.
• Monitor storage capacity and troubleshoot database issues.

3. Application Server Administration:

• Install, configure, and manage Oracle WebLogic Server environments, including domains, clusters, and managed servers.
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot J2EE applications to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Perform WebLogic Server tuning, including JVM optimization and thread pool management.
• Implement SSL termination for secure communications and manage AD integration for user authentication and access control.

4. User and Security Management:

• Administer user provisioning, deactivation, and access control within Primavera P6.
• Configure security policies, including SSL and Active Directory (AD) authentication, to protect project data from unauthorized access.
• Manage project archives, including re-importing archived schedules upon request.

5. Monitoring and Maintenance:

• Perform regular monitoring of system health, database performance, and application server uptime.
• Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to ensure system stability.
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
• Provide technical support to end-users to maximize Primavera P6 utilization.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including installation guides, configuration settings, troubleshooting guides, and backup/recovery plans.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in administering Primavera P6 EPPM on-premise systems.
• Proficiency in Oracle Database management, including clustering, tuning, and backups.
• Expertise in managing Oracle WebLogic Server environments and J2EE application deployment.
• Strong understanding of Primavera P6 architecture and system configurations.
• Experience with clustered P6 EPPM server environments for performance and scalability.
• Solid understanding of system security, including SSL and LDAP/Active Directory integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Primavera P6 EPPM, Oracle Database, or related technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
