Overview The Primary Lower Secondary Physical Education Teacher for the CAIE Curriculum plays a vital role in fostering students physical fitness, health awareness, and overall personal development. This position involves creating a dynamic learning environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and the enjoyment of physical activities. The teacher is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education program tailored for primary and lower secondary students, engaging them in activities designed to build their physical skills, confidence, and passion for fitness. By instilling healthy habits and encouraging an active lifestyle, the teacher contributes significantly to the students growth and development in alignment with the CAIE guidelines. With a keen emphasis on inclusivity and adaptability, this role aims to inspire students of varying abilities to participate fully in all physical education activities. A successful physical education teacher will foster a sense of community within the classroom, advocate for students physical needs, and ensure that every child enjoys a safe and challenging environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in line with the CAIE curriculum. Teach a variety of physical education activities including team sports, individual fitness, and recreational activities. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation from all students. Incorporate health education into the curriculum to promote overall wellness. Foster teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship among students. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance evaluations. Organize and supervise extracurricular sports and physical activities. Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle choices among students. Ensure the safe and proper use of sports equipment and facilities. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education with other subjects. Stay updated on current trends and best practices in physical education. Participate in professional development activities and contribute to departmental initiatives. Implement strategies to support students with diverse needs and abilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Physical Education or related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. Experience teaching physical education at the primary and/or lower secondary level. Strong understanding of the CAIE curriculum and assessment criteria. Proficient in developing lesson plans and instructional materials. Ability to inspire and motivate students towards physical fitness. Strong classroom management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive educational environment. Knowledge of student health and safety regulations. Experience in organizing sports events and competitions. Capable of adapting teaching methods to meet diverse student needs. Willingness to continue professional development. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and the school community. Passion for promoting student well being and active lifestyles.
