Job Description

The Pre-School Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering age-appropriate learning experiences that support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of young children. The role requires creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment aligned with the philosophy and curriculum of Footprints Preschool and Daycare. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities in line with the preschool curriculum. Foster a warm, secure, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration. Support children’s emotional, social, language, and motor skill development through structured and play-based learning. Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress, development, and behaviour, and share feedback with parents when required. Maintain classroom discipline through positive guidance and age-appropriate behaviour management techniques. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times, adhering strictly to school safety and hygiene protocols. Collaborate with fellow teachers, caregivers, and support staff to ensure consistency in learning and care practices. Communicate professionally and effectively with parents regarding children’s development, routines, and concerns. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and school events as required. Maintain accurate records, including attendance, lesson plans, assessments, and incident reports. Uphold the values, policies, and standards of Footprints Preschool and Daycare. Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children. Ability to plan and execute engaging, creative, and meaningful learning activities. Good classroom management and organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Professional, dependable, and committed to continuous learning. Qualifications & Experience Freshers can apply. Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is added advantage. Prior experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred. Certification in First Aid and Child Safety is an added advantage.
