Postgresql DBA

As a PostgreSQL DBA at Nascent, you will be responsible for administration and management of PostgreSQL databases. Your role will include maintaining standby databases, migrating and upgrading databases, and implementing high availability solutions for a fail-safe database environment with at least 2 DB servers. You should be able to manage multiple instances of PostgreSQL and perform point-in-time recovery when needed. Additionally, you will be required to convert logical designs to physical designs, support online backups for staging/production databases, and plan, implement, and maintain incremental/full and hot DB backup strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Administration and Managing PostgreSQL database - Maintain standby databases, Migrate and upgrade databases - Implement high availability solutions for fail-safe db environment with at least 2 DB Servers - Manage multiple instances of PostgreSQL - Perform Point in time recovery - Convert logical design to physical design, Support online backups for Staging/production databases - Plan, implement and maintain (Incremental/full and hot) DB Backups Strategies - Configure DB parameters to optimize performance - Write database checks for the alert monitoring system requirements - Create, update and configure stored procedures, views, tables, index, triggers, etc. - Troubleshoot data issues and maintain data integrity and security - Optimize issue identification - Collaborate with developers to understand applications and operational system parameters and contribute to engineering designs - Write SQL queries - Work independently or in a team with minimal guidance and meet tight deadlines - Write database administrative documentation - Deliver high-quality work on time - Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, design, coding, and debugging skills Qualifications Required: - BE/B Tech in Computer Engineering or MCA - Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA - Experience working as a Database Developer will be an added advantage - Sound operating knowledge on Windows/UNIX/Linux platform - Experience working with Enterprise DB - Post GIS Experience (Optional),
