Job Description

Role Overview: As a Director in the Investment Management division at Morgan Stanley, you will be responsible for providing business and operational support for fixed income investment and trading personnel. Your primary focus will be on maintaining high service levels while enhancing and fortifying operational infrastructure. You will collaborate with various business units across the firm to support financial transactions, implement effective controls, and develop client relationships. Additionally, you will drive strategic automation solutions by challenging the status quo and embracing a transformation mindset. Key Responsibilities: - Provide functional support to MSIM portfolio managers, traders, and portfolio administrators through the Trade Management System (Aladdin). - Monitor trade flows from Aladdin to Middle Offices and Custodians. - Handle Trade Affirmation and Trade Settlement using DTCC CTM, Alert, and Trade Suite. - Collaborate with brokers and custodian banks to resolve unconfirmed trades, trade settlement issues, and reconciliation items. - Offer operational support to portfolio managers, traders, and portfolio administrators as needed. - Identify and resolve transaction-related issues promptly following established guidelines, procedures, and controls. - Support corporate action workflows including data consumption, maintain processing standards, and manage the overall corporate action function. - Reconcile cash and positions in Aladdin for designated portfolios. - Retrieve and review cash balances from custodians, escalate cash overdrafts, and initiate interest claims against brokers, middle office service providers, and custodians on behalf of MSIM and its clients. - Assist in all aspects of Aladdin transaction processing, position management, cash handling, and corporate actions for assigned investment and trading teams. - Ensure accurate and timely delivery of critical business inquiries to internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. - Four to Seven years of operations and/or related experience. - Specific knowledge of corporate actions is a plus. - Must have knowledge of equity and fixed income securities. - Familiarity with BRS Aladdin is a plus. - Experience with DTCC CTM and Alert is advantageous. - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. - Excellent problem-solving abilities with a collaborative and innovative solution-focused approach. - Understanding of custodian bank operating standards and interoperability with asset management.
