Policy Advocacy Head

We are looking for a go-getter and proactive professional to lead the organisations efforts to influence public policy and regulatory frameworks in alignment with its mission and sustainability goals. This role involves strategic engagement with government bodies, policy think tanks and civil society organisations.

The candidate will be responsible for infuelncing, developing, participating and executing advocacy strategies, conducting policy research and representing the organisation in key policy forums.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional communication with relationship building abilities and a deep understanding of the policy intervention landscape, particularly in areas related to environmental sustainability, circular economy and responsible food packaging in state, nation and globally.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Policy Strategy & Development:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive policy advocacy strategy aligned with organisational goals.
• Monitor and analyse policy developments at local, state, and national levels.
• Ability to decipher and influence posssibility of reform in an existing policy.
• Engage with relevant authorities and convince reforms.

2. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, policy makers and civil society organisations.
• Represent the company in policy forums, roundtables, and consultations.
• Ability to participate in government policy making forums for organizational aligned objectives.

3. Research & Communication:

• Lead policy research initiatives and prepare white papers, policy briefs, and position statements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with business objectives.
• Awareness of global sustainability and responsible food packaging initiatives.

4. Campaigns & Outreach:

• Design and implement advocacy campaigns to influence public opinion, government alignment and policy decisions.
• Ability to create narratives leading to reforms.
• Organise workshops, webinars, and events to promote policy dialogue.

5. Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Identify policy risks and opportunities and advise leadership accordingly.

What You Bring:

• Female candidates have an advantage
• Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law or related field.
• 1- 5 years of experience in policy advocacy, government relations, or public affairs.
• Strong track record of leading policy changes
• Strong network within policy circles, government bodies and change makers
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Prior experience in sustainability, packaging, or environmental policy is a plus.
• Passionate about driving systemic change through policy.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment.
