Business Development Lead \u2013 Compostable Flexible Packaging Location: Bangalore, India Company: Pakka Limited About the Role Pakka is on a mission to revolutionize the world of packaging \u2014 by replacing plastic with compostable alternatives that are better for the planet and healthier for people. Were looking for a driven, gritty, and entrepreneurial Business Development Lead to spearhead outreach to emerging FMCG brands and converters/printers serving these brands. This is a front-line sales role \u2014 ideal for someone who thrives on building new relationships, understands the hustle of the start-up world, and is excited to work at the intersection of sustainability and innovation . What Youll Do Lead Generation & Outreach : Identify and reach out to upcoming FMCG brands and converters/printers to pitch our compostable packaging solutions. Sales Execution : Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, close deals, and drive revenue growth. Strategic Targeting : Create a customer segmentation plan and build a go-to-market strategy tailored for early-stage and challenger brands. Technical Understanding : Grasp the basics of flexible packaging structures, compostable material science, and key processes like lamination, slitting, and pouching to be an effective partner to clients. Solution Development : Work closely with internal teams to develop customized packaging solutions based on client needs. Pricing & Proposals : Collaborate with commercial and technical teams to build accurate pricing proposals and costing strategies. Market Sensing : Stay plugged into trends in sustainable packaging, materials, and up-and-coming challenger brands across India. What Were Looking For 1\u20133 years of experience in Sales or Business Development, preferably in flexible packaging, printing, conversion, food, or consumer goods . A go-getter with a passion for sales, a thick skin for rejection, and relentless follow-up. Ability to work independently , manage time effectively, and handle multiple conversations in parallel. Organized and structured thinker \u2014 able to translate complex customer needs into actionable plans. Comfortable understanding technical aspects of packaging with a curiosity to learn more. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Bachelors degree required; MBA or relevant certifications in business or packaging tech is a plus. We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader to head the commissioning of our state-of-the-art Greaseproof Paper Machine . This role is critical to ensuring the machine is erected, commissioned, and operationalized on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end project execution\u2014from design finalization to machine stabilization Finalize technology and vendor partners for the greaseproof paper machine Supervise the erection, commissioning, and trial runs of the machine Ensure process stability and achieve desired product quality and production output Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and R&D teams Establish SOPs for machine operation, maintenance, and safety Deliver the project within planned timelines, costs, and compliance norms Must-Have Competencies: In-depth knowledge of greaseproof paper manufacturing technology Strong understanding of material and energy balance , machine design, and critical components Familiarity with specialty pulps , refining processes, and barrier property optimization Proven track record of successfully commissioning paper machines , preferably in the specialty segment Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships effectively Preferred Qualifications: B.Tech/B.E. in Pulp & Paper Technology / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering PMP or Project Management certification (preferred) Experience in commissioning food-grade or greaseproof/specialty paper lines
