PMS Intern – Marine Engineers / Deck Cadets (2-3 Months Project)

About the Role:

Ecosail Infotech is looking for recently passed-out (or still pursuing) Marine Engineers or Deck Cadets (pre-sea) or those currently on leave, to assist us in populating and structuring data for a Planned Maintenance System (PMS) project for our shipping clients.

This is a great opportunity to apply your knowledge of shipboard machinery & deck operations, gain industry exposure in tech-driven fleet management, and work alongside professionals digitizing key ship management workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in creating and organizing equipment and machinery data for PMS.

2. Map maintenance schedules, job routines, manuals, and spares based on equipment specs.

3. Understand and apply maker manuals, class requirements, and ISM code-related procedures.

4. Coordinate with senior technical personnel for clarifications where needed.

5. Maintain accuracy and structure of data within the PMS software environment.

Who should apply

A. Marine Engineers or Deck Cadets who have completed their pre-sea training (DNS, GME, BSc, BTech, etc.)

B. Cadets/Junior officers on shore leave or vacation, looking for short-term exposure to technical ship management.

C. Individuals with a strong interest in maritime software and digitalization.

Requirements

- Completed pre-sea training (Marine Engineering or Deck Cadet).

- Strong understanding of shipboard machinery/systems (for engineers) or deck equipment/systems (for cadets).

- Available for a 2-3 months period of dedicated work (on leave, or before joining first vessel).

- Basic computer literacy – MS Excel, PDFs, and document management.

- Detail-oriented person with good documentation and reading comprehension skills.

- Familiarity with PMS concepts is a plus (training will be provided).

- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
